Private Health Insurance

Crux Clinic offers HICAPS facilities in-clinic, allowing you to claim directly from participating private health insurance funds at the time of your appointment. This helps to reduce your out-of-pocket costs immediately.

Private health funds either contribute a percentage of the appointment cost or a fixed amount, depending on your fund and level of cover. For details about your rebate, please contact your health fund directly.

We work with all major private health insurers and can provide on-the-spot claims via HICAPS or issue an invoice if you prefer to claim after your appointment.

Medicare Information

Medicare does not routinely cover private allied health services such as physiotherapy, chiropractic care, or podiatry.

In some circumstances, you may be eligible for up to five allied health appointments per calendar year, partially funded by Medicare. This is provided through the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) program (formerly known as the Enhanced Primary Care or EPC program) and must be coordinated by your GP. If you have a CDM plan from your doctor, please bring it to your appointment.

Please note that these plans are not bulk-billed and that there will be a gap payment.

For more information about eligibility, speak with your GP or visit the Medicare website.
